Jennifer "JP" Dossett
New York State Licensed Massage Therapist
I was born and raised here in Buffalo, graduating from Cleveland Hill in 1998, Canisius College in 2002 with a BS, and New York Institute of Massage School in 2010. In February 2011, I received my NYS License to practice Massage Therapy. My first career was as a Document Advisor and Designer under Xerox at Kaleida Health from 2004-2012. Since May 2012, I have been working full-time as a Massage Therapist, establishing my DBA, Massage By JP. From May 2012 through January 2014 I was an independent contractor within the Mineral Springs Chiropractic & Massage Therapy office in West Seneca, NY. In January 2014, I began working with Dr. Craig Horner, as an independent contractor in his office, Seneca Springs in West Seneca. As of May 2021, Dr. Stefanie Pawelek took over Seneca Springs Wellness, and I continue to be part of her team of independent contractors.
I was an active athletic youth, which has translated into being a pretty active healthy adult. I was a competitive swimmer through school that carried with me beyond. I was a lifeguard, instructor, and coach with the community and private swim programs in Williamsville, NY. After my son's birth in 2015, I hung up my goggles to spend my time with him through his young impressionable years. Who knows what the future may hold, but maybe it'll be back in a pool instructing. In addition, as of late 2021, I had found a new passion in Ice Hockey, because of my son. I now actively participate in adult learn-to-play programs and novice leagues. The takeaway from my lifetime of athletics, I believe, is to remain active and moving. I feel it is so important to your overall health. My older clients, injury or not, who have kept moving are in much better condition than those that don't. My services are to help you remain mobile.
Life is too short not to enjoy it. I am grateful that I found a career that I love and that gives me the flexibility to have the time to share with the people I care about, and do the things I enjoy, including keeping in touch with my creative side and trying new things.
As far as my future in Massage Therapy, I will continue to educate myself in techniques and modalities of my interest and build on my experience with every client that I place my hands on.
